Enjoy your journey as a Lepidopterist!

Step 1:
Lepidopterists (students) will be
placed into small groups by their teacher.

First, have someone in your group read aloud the directions for our anticipation guide about the monarch butterfly.  Next, a new person in your group will read aloud the statement. As a group, decide if the statement is true or false.  Circle your choice.  Make sure to answer all of the statements.

When everyone has completed the anticipation guide, we will watch a short
video clip.

Step 2:
Each group will be assigned a topic
about the monarch butterfly to research.  First, decide how you will divide up the research responsibilities.  Who will be the navigator (“mouse” control), reader (read text aloud), and the recorder (write information in the flip book).  All lepidopterists must take an active role in completing the assignment.

Step 3:
Below, you will find information
for each assigned topic.  First, each group will read the directions for their monarch butterfly topic.  Second, use the internet resources (click on link), videos,  and classroom books to comple
te your research.  Make sure to use the flip book (provided by your teacher) to help organize all of your research information.
