Congratulations!

Great Work!  You have successfully completed your newjob as a lepidopterist, also known as a butterfly scientist.

Now, use what you know about the Monarch Butterfly to help you during our science unit.  We will be learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly.  Don’t stop being a scientist – be curious, ask questions, and learn as much as you can about butterflies!

Finally, think about how you might be able to help protect butterflies living here in Michigan.  Maybe you could create a butterfly garden at our school or at your home.  All you need to do is research the types of butterflies living in our community.  Then, visit a local nursery (place that sells plants and flowers) to find out what type of flowers and plants  these butterflies like.  Enjoy watching butterflies this summer!
