Differentiation of Inquiry Process
Research Groups: Each research group was created with differentiation in mind. Every group is made up of three to 4 students. In each group, I have assigned one high reader, one average reader, and one struggling reader.
Research Roles: To ensure that all students actively participate in the Web Quest, each student must choose a research role: navigator ("mouse control"), reader, and recorder (writes data in the flipbook). Dividing the task into roles will engage all students in the inquiry process and allow students to choose a role that meets their learning needs and capabilities.
Conferencing: Some groups will need more assistance with the inquiry process than others. Therefore, the teacher must check for understanding and overall research progress throughout the Web Quest.
